How do I become a firefighter?
Firefighter recruitment is usually conducted by local authorities (city/county councils), so getting in touch with your local authority is the most direct way to find out if there will be a recruitment competition in your area.You may also find this website which provides updates on Firefighter vacancies helpful: http://www.fire-ireland.com/Jobs-Vacancies-Page

What is the recruitment process?
The stages of the recruitment competition generally include physical fitness test, aptitude/psychometric tests, work-related tests, interview, and a medical. However, the order of these can vary between competitions.
What are the eligibility requirements?
These are set out at the launch of a recruitment campaign by the respective local authorities (city/county councils). The eligibility criteria includes things such as educational requirements, driving licence, age and health requirements.
