2021 Mature Nursing Assessment

*Important Note on 2021 CAO Mature Nursing Assessment

This year the full details of the assessment test have yet to be confirmed. The 2021 Official NMBI Booklet ‘Nursing/Midwifery A career for you’ states the following in regard to the 2021 assessment:

(Page 22-23 of Booklet)

You are a mature applicant if you are 23 years of age or over by 1 January in the year of entry and you wish to be considered for a place on the grounds of mature years. You will be considered as mature, and on the basis of performance in the assessment test, and on QQI FET/FETAC and/or Leaving Certificate or other school leaving qualifications, if you select the relevant boxes in the Qualifications and Assessments section of the CAO application form.

Applying for the assessment test (mature applicants only)

If you choose to apply as a mature applicant, you must be successful in the current year in an assessment test. We are reviewing our assessment processes for entry to programmes in 2021, and details about the assessment will be made available by the end of 2020. Full details about the assessment will be publicised on our website www.nmbi.ie at this time. The CAO will also issue an email about the assessment to all mature applicants after 1 February 2021. It is expected that the test will take place in March/April 2021 but this is subject to change.
